About the BAY FLIGHT Conference

The BAY FLIGHT Conference is a one-day aviation conference that brings together pilots and aviation professionals from Northern California for a day or learning and networking. In addition to hearing from a keynote speaker, attendees have the opportunity to engage with the latest topics in the field through a variety of breakout seminars, workshops, and presentations. Previous topics included post-crash survival, weather workshops, emergencies in IMC, and many more. The event concludes with a panel of local Air Traffic Controllers, where participants can learn more about ATC’s operations, as well as to get the chance to ask the controllers questions. Finally, attendees can meet new friends over a complimentary lunch and post-conference reception.

BAY FLIGHT Conference is an extension of San Carlos Flight Center’s active Safety Seminar and Guest Speaker program.  For more than 8 years, San Carlos Flight Center has welcomed in experts for ongoing training, discussion, and exposure to the latest and greatest in general aviation.  The program has grown to feature events every Wednesday evening and every Saturday at noon at SCFC’s office at San Carlos Airport. Each year, more than 2,300 Bay Area pilots attend one or more events at San Carlos Flight Center.

San Carlos Flight Center’s motto is “Safety.  Community. Adventure.” When the Airplane Owners and Pilots Association discontinued their popular annual AOPA Summit in 2014, the pilot community lost an important community and training event. San Carlos Flight Center is glad to continue the tradition of bringing together pilots from the San Francisco Bay Area to share stories of safety, community, and adventure.

The BAY FLIGHT Conference is a celebration of the best in SF Bay Area aviation.  “Bay Flight” also happens to be the call sign for San Carlos Flight Center members and aircraft.  If you hear “Bay Flight” on the radio, it means another SCFC pilot has taken to the sky to improve their skills, share the fun of flying with their family and friends, or just revel in the adventure that is SF Bay Area flying.
